Update: Kevin Slowey left tonight's game with a left lat strain. He is day-to-day.

Kevin Slowey has left the game in the sixth inning due to an injury.

Ryan Kalish expects to be in Boston on Monday or Tuesday next week, visiting with doctors to hopefully get clearance to swing. From there, it will probably take another month for him to build up that swing to the point that he could play in some games.

Hiroki Kuroda leaves the game with an injury. He was hit on the right calf last inning by Manny Machado.

Manager Davey Johnson said trainers came to him after the 9th inning and said Harper's knee was swelling. Harper said he could stay in.

Jake Westbrook had to stop throwing after 20 pitches Wednesday. He said his elbow did not feel right. Not sure what next step will be.

With John Gast pitching effectively in his stead (for now), I don't see any reason why the Cardinals will/can make a change. Michael Wacha is waiting in the wings at AAA Memphis but since he was drafted last year, maybe the Cardinals want to give him a full year at the triple-A level first. As for Westbrook, this is not good news at all. Stay tuned.

Santiago Casilla saw a specialist at Stanford Wednesday and doctors will huddle up and determine a course of treatment on his knee.

Unless you play in a holds league, Casilla doesn't hold much value in fantasy baseball. Since he's already on the DL, if you're rostering him for any reason you can stop now and hit the drop button. Anyone else is more valuable than Casilla right now.

Carlos Quentin (knee) is not in the Padres starting lineup on Wednesday.

Manager Bud Black said INF Logan Forsythe (extended spring) and OF Cameron Maybin (Triple-A Tucson) will play in games Friday in Arizona.

Jason Grilli is unavailable for the Pirates Wednesday.
