Alex Rodriguez "felt pretty good" after hitting off a tee and taking soft toss Wednesday, according to manager Joe Girardi.

Do we actually pay close attention or really care about A-Roid updates these days? Personally, no we don't, and we actually recommend you don't either. But on the other hand, if you play in a very deep AL Only league and are so desperate you'd sell your...wait, never mind that thought. The point is Alex Rodriguez is literally attempting a comeback on his last legs and it could end up being an ugly attempt at best given what we feel like is an Anabolic & Bad Karma mixed bomb waiting to explode. Do you really want a part of that poo-poo platter on your roster?

This is no reason for A-Rod's fantasy owners to "feel pretty good". A-Rod is a far cry from his old fantasy MVP self, so don't expect him to do anything special. It would have to be a pretty darn good matchup to even consider him in a daily game, when he comes up.

A-Rod's power numbers have diminished significantly the last 2 seasons. However he still may retain some value to fantasy owners. His OBP in 2011 was .362 and 2012 came in at .353. Owners in deep leagues looking for a CI could do a lot worse than A-Rod.

The Yankees had predicted that Alex Rodriguez would return to the field after the All-Star break, but asked if he is certain he'll be back, the 37-year-old Rodriguez said, "I really hope so. I really hope so. That's as specific as I'll get."

One thing that is predictable is that you will hear about A-Rod's every little move and whether he is close to a return or not, over and over again. Do not buy into that constant chatter, the chances of him returning any time soon is unrealistic, and even when he does he will be used sparingly.

With Alex Rodriguez due to report to Tampa on Monday, the Yankees sent out a release saying that neither fans nor the media will be allowed to witness the rehab work at the minor league complex. They didn't specifically mention A-Rod, but the timing of the reminder seems a little more than coincidental.

Who would want to watch him other than the media types and 18 year old buxom blonde bimbos? A-Rod's value has decreased exponentially over the last few seasons as he's gotten more injury prone and has been become worse at the plate and the field. He won't be back until July at the latest, and even then I wouldn't be inclined to pick him up. You can probably get some sap to trade for him though just on name value alone, so feel free.

Sounds like the Yankees are trying to shelter the recovering has-been. Maybe they don't trust him to resist temptation, maybe they don't trust him to avoid providing An embarrassing quote... Or maybe they just don't trust him to stay focused on working on his recovery. Whatever the case, this is just another worrying detail for fantasy owners, and I for one will not be investing any value into getting ARod on my teams.

According to Alex Rodriguez's facebook page, he's been cleared for Baseball activities. "Really excited to be getting closer to being back on the field." A-Rod will travel to Tampa May 6 to begin baseball rehab activities.

How convenient is it that A-Rod gets to head back to Florida for his rehab assignment... You know, since he allegedly got his PED's from the sunshine state in the last few years. At this point I want no part of A-Rod on my fantasy team... Yes, he's capable of being productive... but he's also very likely to end up being suspended for PEDs or to end up hurt again... and with those risks, I'm not willing to pay for A-Rod's name value to get him...

Alex Rodriguez (hip) has yet to begin baseball activity, manager Joe Girardi said. He's running on a treadmill. "And he’s getting stronger."

I suppose this is somewhat positive news. A-Rod likely won't be on the field at Yankee Stadium until at least after the All-Star break. I'm sure he has a little bit of magic left in his bat, but his days of fantasy baseball supremacy are long gone.

Alex Rodriguez told Yankees manager Joe Girardi that he is now able to run slowly on a treadmill. "He was pretty fired up about that," Girardi said.

Pretty fired up about running "slowly on a treadmill"? That sounds pathetic! If this is what fantasy news about ARod had become, you know his career is surely nearing its end. His fantasy value is close to nil at this point and he is on the waiver wire in almost every single league - that should tell you a lot! Even if ARod makes his way back from embarrassment and injury to play a few games in 2013, you will probably not want him in your lineup as he cannot hit right handed pitching these days and barely has any pop left in his aging bat. Basically, ARod is useless and should be erased from your mind in every format for the remainder of 2013 and most likely beyond.

MLB has uncovered evidence that a rep of Alex Rodriguez arranged to have documents purchased from a South Florida anti aging clinic.

Eventually all of ARod's rule breaking and attempts at covering his tracks are going to catch up with him... and it's starting to look like that time is coming sooner than later. Honestly at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if this turns into the straw that ended the one-time lock of a first-ballot HOFer's career. I really can't imagine a scenario where it makes sense to waste a roster spot on ARod anymore.

My only recommendation for Alex Rodriguez owners is to let him go. If you're stashing him for later this year and it is taking up a valuable roster spot, you can dump him. He'll likely still be available if he comes back this year. For a guy that was on track to become the all-time home run leader, this has been quite a fall from grace.

Alex Rodriguez says he's not concerned about a suspension, doesnt feel like MLB is targeting him.

Arod be naive? Arod feel hes above the MLB? You dont say? Either way, rostering him is probably not in your best interest if he is costing you a spot on your roster or if your league has a limit on the number of DL spots and you have to decide between him and another player to put on your DL who may come back sooner than Rodriguez.

Yankee fans refer to A-Rod as a Fakey but that shouldn't stop you from throwing him into your DL spot if you can. Remember, always use your DL spots if your league has them. They make for a great way to stash a player at no cost to your active roster.

I'm going to disagree with Hecman and I will not be wasting a roster spot... even a DL spot... on the aging, PED using, once great. It's sad to see such a bright star fall so far, so fast... But even if ARod doesn't get suspended (which would be a surprise at this point), who knows when he'll come back and if he'll be effective... With 3rd base being the deepest position in fantasy this year, dump Arod on guys who still think of him as the Arod of old, and grab yourself Pedro Alvarez or Trevor Plouffe... Both of whom are potentially sitting on your league's waiver wire, and will get you 20+ HRs.

Alex Rodriguez is coming north to continue rehabilitation of his surgically repaired hip. Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Thursday that A-Rod will begin rehabbing in New York on Friday. “He’s been rehabbing in Miami,” Cashman said.

Yankees officially place 3B Alex Rodriguez (recovering from hip surgery) on 60-day DL.

It was expected that the Yankees' third baseman would miss at least the first half of the upcoming season. With his name linked to the Miami clinic, it's hard to determine whether he will ever suit up for the Yankees again. Consider his fantasy stature irrelevant for the time being.
