Jason Castro is not in the Astros' starting lineup on Friday.

Jason Castro went 4-for-4 Sunday with a run scored in the loss to Oakland.

The Astros are off to their worst 50-game start in club history at 14-36, but they have at least one bright spot with their young catcher Jason Castro. Castro has 10 hits in his last 12 at-bats with two home runs, a double, four RBI, and four runs scored in his last three starts. Castro now has five home runs in the month of May after hitting just one in the first month of the season. Castro could provide value in two catcher leagues, or even more so in Daily League contests while he is hot, and his price is still on the cheap at just about a 6% cost to your salary cap.

The Fantasy Nomad, Michael Pichan, nailed it with his recommendation on Castro... He is one of the only true bright spots in Houston these days... On a separate note, I would not have expected Houston to have 14 wins in the first 50 games... As bad as they are playing... and it is BAD... They are still exceeding my expectations (which were to win about 40 games on the season).

Astros catcher Jason Castro is not in the team's starting lineup Monday.

Jason Castro was in Saturday's lineup as the starting catcher for the fifth consecutive game, which ties his career high for consecutive games behind the plate.

Astros activated C Jason Castro from the 15-day disabled list.

Jason Castro began his rehab assignment with Double-A Corpus Christi Friday night. Castro finished 2 for 2 with a double and a single before he was pulled in the fourth inning.

Astros catcher Jason Castro, out since July 8 with a right knee injury, said Thursday that his rehabilitation continues to progress well, MLB.com reports.

Jason Castro is catching today, not Chris Snyder. There was a mixup when filling out the lineup card.

Jason Castro still has some neck soreness 36 hours after the collision with Mat Gamel. He'll take Wednesday and off-day Thursday to rest, be ready Friday.

Houston catcher Jason Castro worked out Monday as he continues to recover from foot surgery in January. Castro, who also missed the entire 2011 season with an ACL injury, caught in the bullpen -- his first action since he was in the Arizona Fall League last October. "I feel it went really well," he told MLB.com. "It was nice to get in there and catch someone with pretty serious movement."
