Neil Walker is in the Pirates starting lineup on Monday.

Walker is off the disabled list and the 47% owned second baseman should see his ownership numbers steadily rise as he gets back to his mid-teen HR / gap double / mid-80's RBI ways. Walker is one of the most underwhelming players in fantasy baseball, but he consistently delivers solid numbers across the board for a MI. If you need 2B / MI help, you could definitely do worse than the consistent Walker. He should be owned and active in most fantasy league formats, including deeper mixed leagues.

Neil Walker is ready to return to the team after missing more than two weeks due to a deep cut on his hand. Walker struggled a little earlier this season, but with Jordy Mercer heading to Triple-A Indianapolis in the corresponding move, he will resume his everyday duties at second base.

Walker is a nice player, one that could be on waivers in your league as owners have moved on from him given his slow start to the season. Walker, a career .278 hitter, is a moderate source of power and run production from second base, but you could do a heck of a lot worse than slotting Walker as your starter at second base or as your middle infield option in mixed leagues.

Pirates activated 2B Neil Walker from the 15-day disabled list.

If Walker ends up playing today it doesn't make for a great matchup. The Pirates are facing Marco Estrada and Walker is just 2-for-10 with four strikeouts, and he's probably got a bit of rust to shake off. Get your fantasy production elsewhere.

Neil Walker will be activated from the disabled list on Monday. Walker (hand) went 2-for-3 with a RBI while playing a full 9 innings at second in a rehab game with Altoona today.

After the Pirates waited for a week to put him on the disabled list, Walker needed only four games to get back in the swing of things. In four games with Double-A Altoona, Walker went 5-for-12 with one double and one RBI. Fantasy owners will want to activate him before the starts of Monday's games, especially those in weekly leagues, so be able to use him for the upcoming week. Walker was off to a slow start before being sidelined, so hopefully the time away will be beneficial to his fantasy performance.

Neil Walker (hand) will stay at Double-A Altoona through the end of the weekend, meaning he is not expected to be activated Sunday, when he is eligible to come off the disabled list. Walker will be the designated hitter for Altoona in a double-header Saturday, and will also play Sunday.

Clint Hurdle said Neil Walker (cut on right hand) will play nine innings in rehab appearance for Double-A Altoona tonight.

The Pirates need Walker back in their lineup and for him to start showing signs that he can repeat a solid 2012 campaign. Walker's start to 2013 has been disappointing for owners so far and he should only be owned in deeper mixed and NL only leagues at this point. Monitor his rehab and first several games back to see if he can get back on track.

Neil Walker played six innings in the field during the first game of his rehab assignment with Double-A Altoona Thursday. He went 1 for 4 at the plate.

Neil Walker was quietly starting to heat up before this little injury derailed his progress. Expect his much needed return to the Pirates lineup sooner than later and be ready to plug him in as your 2nd baseman in all league formats.

Pirates Neil Walker will begin rehab assignment for Class AA Altoona on Thursday. He could re-join the Pirates this weekend in New York.

Good news for fantasy owners, as second base has been a black hole for many a fantasy owner this year. If for some reason he is available in your re-draft leagues, now would be the time to pick him up and hold him until the weekend when he returns.

Pirates placed Neil Walker on 15-day disabled list (retro to 4/27) with right hand laceration and recalled INF Jordy Mercer from Triple-A Indianapolis.

So much for Walker avoiding the DL. In yet another case of a club lying about the health of a player... Walker tried to hit the other day and obviously it didn't go well. The expectation is that he will return when first eligible, but this is a tough blow for people who had started Walker this week with the expectation that he would be on the field.

Pirates manager Clint Hurdle indicated a back-dated trip to the disabled list could be option for 2B Neil Walker (cut right hand) is he doesn't show progress on Friday.

He's been out since April 26th so he wouldn't miss much more time for a 15 day stint. He started slowly last year but came on strong in June to post numbers similar to 2009. He's a definite buy low candidate who should be attempted to acquire if you aren't satisfied or are impatient with what your start 2B is up to now.

Neil Walker (hand) is not in the Pirates starting lineup on Tuesday.

Walker, who has missed the Pirates last three games, won't be able to have his stitches removed from his right index finger until Friday. He suffered the injury while breaking up a double play in late in Friday night's game, but was able to avoid the disabled list after revealing there was no bone or tendon injuries. Owners of Walker should not expect to see him in the lineup until the stitches are out, but then again, the Pirates may surprise up all, so be sure to check his status prior to each first pitch.
