LF Ryan Ludwick has been placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to yesterday, following this morning’s surgery to repair.
The 28 year old Chris Heisey will replace Ludwick in left field and bat second in the order Wednesday. Heisey has the potential to be a 15/10 or better Fantasy options if he can see more than 120 games, which is what he has played in each of the last two seasons. Heiseys home run total declined last year from 18 in 2011 to just seven last season due in part because his HR/FB rate went from about 19% in 2011 all the way down to a measly 6.6% in 2012 due to hitting about 10% fewer fly balls last season. Either way, if Heisey is on your waiver wire dont Hiesey-tate to grab him as the potential is there for him to provide solid fantasy production if you consider the lineup he is in and his home ballpark, which has been one of the most hitter friendly parks since it opened.
