Baltimore Orioles
(CL) Jim Johnson (R)–Recorded his 24th save of the season on Tuesday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning. He retired all three batters he faced in order forcing three ground ball outs on 10 pitches. (07/04/12)
(SU) Pedro Strop (R)–Was charged with his fourth blown-save of the season on Tuesday after giving up two runs on three hits and one walk. Despite the rough outing, Strop is still sitting on a 1.73 earned-run average. (07/04/12)
(MR) Darren O’Day (R)–Picked up the win on Tuesday night after retiring the final batter on the eighth inning on three pitches. With this outing O’Day improved to 5-0 on the season with a 2.36 earned-run average. (07/04/12)
Boston Red Sox
(CL) Alfredo Aceves (R)–Took the loss and was charged with his fourth blown-save of the season on Tuesday night after surrendering two runs on three hits. With this appearance Aceves falls to 0-6 on the season with a 4.32 earned-run average. (07/04/12)
(SU) Vicente Padilla (R)–Picked up his 18th hold of the season on Tuesday after pitching 1.1 innings of relief giving up one hit and one walk while striking out three batters. He needed 27 pitches to get through the appearance and will likely be given the day off on Wednesday. (07/04/12)
(MR) Mark Melancon (R)–Pitched two innings of relief on Monday night retiring all six batters he faced in order. He struck out two batters in the appearance and has now strung together three straight solid outings. (07/03/12)

Chicago White Sox
(CL) Addison Reed (R)–Recorded his 11th save of the season on Thursday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning giving up one hit while striking out one batter. He was saved by a great catch by Alex Rios on a ball that Derek Jeter hit to the wall which would’ve won the game for the Yankees, but luckily Rios was able to make a great play to hold onto the win. (SU) Matt Thornton (L)– Pitched one inning of relief on Friday night giving up one run on three hits while striking out one batter. He was used in the seventh inning, which is earlier than most of his appearances this season, but it was in a non-pressure situation. (06/30/12)
(MR) Hector Santiago (L)–Picked up the win on Thursday after pitching one inning of relief giving up one run on one hit while striking out two batters. It wasn’t the best of outings from Santiago, but it was nice to see him keep it together and pick up the win. (06/29/12)

Cleveland Indians
(CL) Chris Perez (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Sunday in a non-save situation giving up one hit while striking out two batters. Perez has pitched two of the last three days, but expect him to be available for Monday’s game against the Angels. (07/02/12)
(SU) Vinnie Pestano (R)–Picked up his 20th hold of the season on Tuesday night after pitching a scoreless eighth inning. He gave up one hit in the appearance and forced one ground ball out and two fly ball outs to get the job done. (07/04/12)
(MR) Tony Sipp (L)–Pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning on Saturday in a non-save situation striking out one batter on 10 pitches thrown. Sipp has been inconsistent this season, but today as a step in the right direction. (07/01/12)

Detroit Tigers
(CL) Jose Valverde (R)–Recorded his 15th save of the season on Sunday after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Valverde has now pitched back-to-back days and may get the day off on Monday. (07/02/12)
(SU) Joaquin Benoit (R)–Pitched one inning of relief on Tuesday night giving up one run on one hit and one walk while striking out one batter. The run came via a home run to start the inning, but Benoit was able to bounce back from blow and not give up any more runs. (07/04/12)
(MR) Phil Coke (L)–Pitched two innings of relief on Monday night giving up two hits while striking out two batters. He needed 25 pitches to get the job done and will likely be off on Tuesday after pitching three innings the last two days. (07/03/12)

Kansas City Royals
(CL) Jonathan Broxton (R)–Recorded his 20th save of the season on Friday night despite giving up two runs on two hits and one walk in the ninth inning. This was a rough outing for Broxton and luckily for him the Royals had a big enough lead that he didn’t blow the game. (06/30/12)
(SU) Greg Holland (R)–Pitched  1.2 innings of relief on Tuesday night giving up two walks while striking out two batters. He needed 27 pitches to get through the appearance forcing two ground ball outs and one fly ball out to get the job done. (07/04/12)
(MR) Aaron Crow (R)–Pitched one inning of relief giving up three runs on two hits and one walk while striking out two batters. This was a rough outing for Crow and with this appearance he raised his earned-run average to 3.34 on the season. (07/02/12)

Los Angeles Angels
(CL) Ernesto Frieri (R)– Picked up his ninth hold of the season on Sunday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning giving up one hit while striking out two batters. With two more strikeouts on Sunday Frieri now has 60 strikeouts on the season. (07/02/12)
(SU) Scott Downs (L)–Recorded his seventh save of the season on Monday night after pitching two innings of relief. Frieri had pitched the previous night, so Downs was used after being off for three straight days. (07/03/12)
(MR) Jordan Walden (R)–Pitched one inning of relief on Tuesday night giving up one run on three hits while striking out two batters. Walden has now given up at least one run in his last three appearances which has raised his earned-run average to 4.15 on the season. (07/04/12)

Minnesota Twins
(CL) Glen Perkins (L)–Recorded his fourth save of the season on Tuesday night after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Perkins has been great in the closer role since Matt Capps when down with an injury, and is proving why the Twins should move Capps before the trade deadline. (07/04/12)
(CL) Jared Burton (R)–Picked up his 12th hold of the season on Sunday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning giving up one hit and one walk while striking out two batters. He needed 29 pitches to get through the appearance and has now pitched back-to-back days. (07/02/12)
(MR)–Alex Burnett (R)–Picked up his fifth hold of the season on Monday night after pitching 1.1 innings of relief giving up one walk while striking out two batters. With this appearance Burnett lowered his earned-run average to 1.77 on the season. (07/03/12)

New York Yankees
(CL) Rafael Soriano (R)–Recorded his 18th save of the season on Sunday afternoon after pitching a scoreless ninth inning giving up one walk while striking out two batters. Soriano has now pitched back-to-back days and will likely get the day off on Monday. (07/02/12)
(SU) David Robertson (R)–Took the loss and was charged with his third blown-save of the season on Monday night after giving up one run on one hit in the seventh inning. The run was unearned, but Robertson still ended up with the back luck loss. (07/03/12)
(MR) Boone Logan (R)–Picked up his 11th hold of the season on Monday night despite giving up one run on one walk in the seventh inning. In his last three appearances Logan has now been used to get just one out, which makes his availability good for the rest of the first half of the season. (07/03/12)

Oakland Athletics
(CL) Ryan Cook(R)–Recorded his seventh save of the season on Sunday after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning. He needed only nine pitches to get through the outing and lowered his earned-run average to 1.54 in his efforts. (07/02/12)
(SU) Grant Balfour (R)–Picked up his 10th hold on Sunday after pitching 0.2 innings of relief giving up one hit in the outing. This was a nice bounce back appearance for Balfour after a rough outing on Friday. (07/02/12)
(MR) Brian Fuentes (L)–Pitched 1.1 innings of relief on Saturday giving up one run on two hits and one walk while striking out one batter. Fuentes has now given up six runs in his last three appearances and is in danger of being demoted if he continues down this road. (07/01/12)

Seattle Mariners
(CL) Tom Wilhelmsen (R)–Recorded his seventh save of the season on Monday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning giving up one walk while striking out one batter. Wilhemlsen has now pitched three straight days and will likely be unavailable on Tuesday. (07/03/12)
(SU) Brandon League (R)–Took the loss on Sunday after giving up one run on two hits in the 10th inning. He got just one out in the appearance before being relieved by Lucas Luetge before the game got out of hand. (07/02/12)
(MR) Lucas Luetge (L)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Sunday giving up one walk in the outing. He needed 10 pitches to get through the appearance with only three pitches going over for strikes. (07/02/12)

(MR) Joel Peralta (R)–Picked up his 18th hold of the season on Tuesday night after retiring the final two batters of the eighth inning. He needed only six pitches to get through the appearance forcing two fly ball outs. (07/04/12)

Texas Rangers
(CL) Joe Nathan (R)–Recorded his 18th save of the season on Thursday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning giving up one hit and one walk while striking out one batter. This marked the third straight day that Nathan pitched so expend him to be unavailable on Friday. (06/29/12)
(SU) Mike Adams (R)–Picked up his 15th hold of the season on Thursday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning giving up one walk while striking out two batters. Adams as now pitched three straight days and will likely get the day off on Friday. (06/29/12)
