I am trying really hard not to be a Yankees hater, but what Brian Cashman said about the Rays 2010 AL East title is exactly why I cannot fight it anymore. This is arrogance at its apogee. NY conceded the AL East to TB with 10 games left for playoff positioning? Please. I thought the idea was to get a HOME playoff series to start the post-season. I guess I am just naiive. I suppose you could say that they "conceded" the last game of the 2011 season, but they were up 7-0 right? I can not and will not accept the Yankees being responsible for the Rays last 2 post-season appearances. It is just ridiculous to say that, or allude to it as Cashman did. In 2010 the Rays won 96 games. That was not because the Yanks didn't try to beat them. In 2011 the Rays won 17 of their last 24 to get the Wild Card. They only played 7 games against NY during that stretch. So go ahead BC, say what you want, but the fact is your team has to face TB 18 times next season and don't think for a minute that what you said will be forgotten.
