New York Jets still want Thomas Jones in their backfield next year. But not at the price tag included in his contract. Despite rushing for 2,714 yards and 27 touchdowns the past two seasons, the Jets need him to take a pay cut. Newark Star-Ledger reporter Dave Hutchinson writes general manager Mike Tannenbaum has been in negotiations with Jones' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, and will meet at the NFL scouting combine this week in Indianapolis to discuss restructuring a contract that includes a $3 million roster bonus in a couple of weeks and a base salary of $2.8 million.
