When Cavs coach Byron Scott learned that Anderson Varejao could not practice Tuesday because of the bruised right knee that has kept him out of the Cavaliers' past 10 games, the Cleveland coach couldn't help but cast a dark shadow over what has already been a dismal season for his 8-28 team.
"I'm still trying to be very optimistic that he'll be able to play, I just don't know when," Scott said. "I miss him every day. But I'm hoping I'm not talking like it's long-term or for the season, or anything like that. I'm still optimistic that he'll be able to play this year until the doctors tell me something different.
