Dwight Howard wanted to play when the Lakers play today against the Detroit Pistons, but Howard described his aggravated right shoulder as “extremely sore” despite receiving a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection. He also sounded uncertain if he will return when the Lakers play Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets.
Lakers coach Mike DAntoni said Howards absence was his call.Hes the only one who can feel the pain, DAntoni said. He can play when theres no pain or when he feels like he can play. Its a little bit different than a normal injury. He has to go through what he can tolerate what he cant.
