The Clippers are optimistic guard Chris Paul and Chauncey Billups will play Friday against the Miami Heat.
Paul has missed the past eight games with a knee bruise but has been increasing his work level and is moving around much better in recent days.Before Wednesday's game, the Clippers were 2-6 without Paul, and while the natural urge is to get him back as soon as possible, the Clippers are being understandably cautious with their MVP-candidate guard.In keeping the big picture in mind, they'd rather play shorthanded now with the hope Paul will be as healthy as possible by the playoffs.
